Dial that code to see your data bundle balance. Yolo customers can also use *154*5#. Both show what is left and when it ends.
4 ways to check
What the reply tells you
- Which bundles are active.
- How much data is left in each.
- When each bundle expires.
- Whether you hold a social media bundle, which is used first for WhatsApp, Facebook and Instagram.
Which bundle is used first
When you hold a social media bundle, it is used first inside WhatsApp, Facebook and Instagram. After it finishes, the regular bundle takes over for those apps. For everything else, the regular bundle is used from the start.
A habit worth building
Check your data once a day at the same time, such as before you leave home. It takes ten seconds and tells you whether today’s bundle will last. If the number is low, you can top up on your own terms instead of in the middle of a call or download. People who check daily rarely run out by surprise.
When the balance looks wrong
| What you see | Likely cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Data lower than expected | A social bundle was used first, or another bundle is active | Read each line in the reply |
| A bundle is missing | It expired | Buy again before expiry next time |
| No reply | Network busy | Wait a minute and try again |
| The balance shows airtime only | You are checking airtime, not data | Use *345*5# for data |
What to do after you buy a bundle
- Wait for the confirmation SMS.
- Dial *345*5# to confirm the size and expiry.
- Write down the expiry date, so you can renew in time.
Is *345*5# free?
Check the screen. MTN shows any charge before you confirm.
Does it show airtime?
No. Use *131# for airtime.
Why does my bundle end at a different time?
Each bundle has its own validity, so read the expiry in the reply.
