List of All Nigerian Banks USSD Codes | 2026

Master list • Updated for 2026

Nigerian banks USSD codes, all in one place

USSD lets you bank from any phone, even one without data. You dial a short code, a menu opens, and you can send money, buy airtime or check your balance. The hard part is remembering which code belongs to which bank. This list puts them in one table, grouped by type, with the shortcut formats that most sources agree on.

How to read this list

• Dial from the phone number registered to your account.

• Replace Amount, Account Number and Phone Number with real digits. Do not type the words.

• † means the code appeared in only one list we checked.

• ‡ means sources disagree. Confirm with the bank.

How we put the list together

We compared bank code lists published by Kuda, Technext and Android Pols, plus bank pages where they exist, such as Standard Chartered’s *977# page and Titan Trust Bank’s announcement. We kept a shortcut format only when at least two sources matched. Where they did not, the table says Open the menu, which is the safe way to use any bank.

1. Commercial banks

The main codes and the two shortcuts people use most: buying airtime for yourself and sending to another bank.

Access Bank *901# *901*Amount# *901*2*Amount*Account Number#
Ecobank *326# Open the menu Open the menu

Formats differ by bank. Some put the amount first, others the account number first, and a few add a menu number such as 2 for other banks. That is why copying a format from one bank to another fails.

2. Other banks, including non-interest banks

Newer and smaller banks. Where a bank publishes only its main code, open the menu and follow the prompts.

Bank Main code Notes
Globus Bank † *989# Commercial bank
Titan Trust Bank *922# Open accounts, send money, manage cards
Premium Trust Bank † *595# Commercial bank
Optimus Bank † *347# Commercial bank
SunTrust Bank † *5230# Commercial bank
Providus Bank ‡ *279# Listed in one master list; another guide says no USSD banking. Confirm first.
Jaiz Bank *773# Non-interest bank. Send money, airtime and balance through the menu
TAJBank *898# Non-interest bank. Balance *898*00#, airtime *898*Amount#
Lotus Bank † *5045# Non-interest bank

3. Fintechs, wallets and payment service banks

These providers run their own menus. The shortcuts below come from a 2025 comparison list. Kuda has no single USSD code, and you add money to it by dialing the sending bank’s code with the Kuda account number.

Provider Main code Transfer shortcut Airtime (self)
OPay *955# *955*1# *955*2*Amount#
Moniepoint *5573# *5573*1# (Moniepoint), *5573*2# (other banks) *5573*3*Amount#
PalmPay *861# *861*1# *861*2*Amount#
Nomba *258# *258*3# *258*2*Amount#
Smartcash PSB *939# *939*4# *939*3*Amount#
MoMo PSB *671# *671*1# *671*2*Amount#

OPay, PalmPay and Nomba were reported to charge a small session fee, so check what your network and provider charge before heavy use.

4. Old codes you should stop using

Banks merge and rebrand, and codes get retired. If a code from your old contact list stops working, find it here.

How to use any bank USSD code in 5 steps

1. Use the SIM that is registered with your bank account.

2. Dial the main code and wait for the menu to load.

3. Register on first use. Most banks ask for your account number, a card detail or date of birth, and a 4-digit PIN. Standard Chartered asks for a 6-digit PIN.

4. Pick an option, such as transfer or airtime, and answer each prompt.

5. Wait for the confirmation SMS before you tell anyone the payment is done.

What does USSD cost?

USSD itself needs no data. Networks typically bill a small session charge on money transfers, and two sources we read quote about N6.98. Airtime and data purchases were reported as free at the banks that said so. Bills can carry an extra fee, and Standard Chartered lists N100 on bill payments. Limits differ too: Standard Chartered’s page lists N20,000 per transaction and N100,000 per day, while a guide on Access Bank reports a default of N100,000 per day. Always read your own bank’s current terms.

7 safety rules for USSD banking

1. Never share your USSD PIN, OTP or card details, even with someone who says they are from your bank.

2. Do not dial a code sent in a text, chat group or social post. Start from the bank’s official channels.

3. Check that the first screen names your bank.

4. Verify the account name and number before you confirm a transfer.

5. If you lose your phone, ask your network to block the SIM and tell your bank at once.

6. Be careful after a SIM swap. If your phone suddenly loses signal for no reason, contact your network and bank.

7. Change your PIN if you think someone has seen it.

When a code does not work

Connection problem or invalid format. Check every star, number and hash sign. Many failures come from one wrong digit.

Menu opens, then fails. Try off-peak hours, such as mid-morning, when networks are less busy.

Profile not found. You may need to register the number, or your bank may have changed the code. Check the table above.

Still stuck. Use your bank’s app, branch or official support line.

Quick answers

Can I use one bank’s code for another bank’s account? No. Each code only works for customers of that bank.

Do all Nigerian banks have a USSD code? Most do, but some digital banks, such as Kuda, do not have one. Raven Bank had announced plans in 2023, and we found no confirmed code.

Why do Wema Bank and ALAT share a code? ALAT is Wema Bank’s digital brand, and the lists we checked show *945# for both.

What if my bank is not listed? Look for its USSD page on the official website or in the app. Do not trust unofficial lists for a code you will type your PIN into.

Bookmark this table, save your bank’s code in your contacts under its name, and test it once while you still have data.
