List of Lagos State postal codes Nigeria : All Branches
Lagos State has an extensive postal delivery network covering Lagos Island, Ikeja, Surulere, Lekki, Ikorodu, Badagry, Epe and many other locations. Because the state is highly urbanised, different neighbourhoods within the same local government area may have different postal codes.
This article provides selected Lagos State postal codes and explains why it is important to use the code for the exact delivery district. The general postal code for Lagos should not be treated as the correct code for every address across the state.

Lagos Island postal code
Lagos Island is one of the state’s established urban delivery areas. The general post-office code commonly associated with Lagos Island is 101001. However, other neighbourhoods and districts have their own allocations. An address in Ikoyi or Victoria Island, for example, should not automatically use the Lagos Island GPO code.
Ikeja postal code
Ikeja is the capital of Lagos State and has a large number of residential, commercial and institutional addresses. The code 100001 is commonly associated with the Ikeja general post-office area. Specific neighbourhoods may have more detailed delivery codes, so the complete address remains important.
Lekki and Ajah postal codes
Lekki and Ajah are major residential and commercial areas in the Lagos metropolitan region. The selected codes shown in the table are 105102 for Lekki and 105101 for Ajah. The precise estate, street or delivery district should still be checked before using either code.
Ikorodu, Epe and Badagry
Ikorodu, Epe and Badagry have separate postal delivery allocations. These towns are geographically distinct from central Lagos, and their postal codes should be selected according to the destination rather than the general Lagos metropolitan address.
Why Lagos has many postal codes
Lagos contains numerous neighbourhoods, estates, business districts and delivery routes. Postal codes help distinguish these locations. A single local government area may contain several delivery codes, particularly in densely populated parts of the state.
How to use a Lagos postal code
- Identify the exact neighbourhood or estate.
- Use the postal code for that delivery district.
- Write the street name and house number clearly.
- Include the correct local government area and state.
Traditional postal codes and digital postcodes
The traditional Nigerian postal codes shown here contain six digits. A digital postcode is a separate location identifier that can identify a more precise property location. Follow the format requested by the form or delivery provider.
Confirming a Lagos address
For streets, estates and neighbourhoods not included in this selected list, confirm the exact delivery code before submitting an important address. Do not assume that every location with a Lagos address uses 100001 or 101001.
