Airtime Transfer Failed on MTN? 6 Quick Fixes
How to Transfer Airtime on MTN Nigeria: 3 Steps, PIN Included
Set your PIN, send the airtime and confirm, with fixes for when it fails.
Before you send anything: your transfer PIN starts as 0000. Change it first, or anyone holding your phone can send your airtime away.
Step 1: set your PIN
By USSD, dial the code below, replacing 1234 with your own four digits. By SMS, send 0000 1234 1234 to 777.
*600*0000*1234*1234#
Step 2: send the airtime
Dial the pattern below. Put the recipient’s MTN number, the amount and your PIN in order.
*600*08031234567*500*1234#
| Part | Meaning |
|---|---|
| *600* | The MTN Share (Share ‘N’ Sell) service |
| 08031234567 | The number receiving the airtime |
| 500 | The amount in naira |
| 1234 | Your own transfer PIN |
Step 3: confirm
You may get an SMS asking you to confirm. Reply YES to 777. A second SMS tells you the transfer is done. The SMS route works too: send Transfer 08031234567 500 1234 to 777.
