MTN 3-Day Bundles: R29 and R42.50 Options

Weekly bundles sit between a day and a month. They are a good fit when you want a fixed amount of data for the next seven days and no longer.

3-day bundles

How rollover works

MTN says you can roll over unused data if you buy another bundle of the same validity, of equal or higher size, before the current one expires. The old data then takes the validity date of the newer bundle.

Recurring weekly bundles

1
Choose the recurring option when you buy.
2
MTN reloads the bundle every week if you have enough funds.
3
To stop it, cancel through the app or self-service. You can cancel one denomination at a time.
4
The cancelled bundle works until it is used up or expires.

When weekly makes sense

  • You want a fixed amount for a short project or trip.
  • You do not want a monthly commitment.
  • Your income comes weekly.
  • You are testing how much data you really use.

When it does not

  • The 80MB to 500MB bundles cost R100 to R150 per GB, so they are poor value.
  • If you need data every week all month, a monthly bundle may cost less per GB.
Tip: Compare the 6GB weekly at R35 per GB with the monthly sizes before you repeat it four times.

Can weekly bundles be shared?

MTN lists weekly bundles among those eligible for Data Share, with exclusions.

Do I get alerts?

MTN sends notices at 50%, 80% and 100% of use.

Can I carry data forward?

Yes, under the rollover rules, if you buy another bundle in time.
