Zenith Bank USSD Codes in Nigeria (2026)
Zenith Bank’s USSD service is built for Nigerian phones and networks: one short code, no data and no app. If you hold a Zenith account, *966# is the code that opens it from any GSM handset, from a basic phone to the latest smartphone.
At a glance: Works on MTN, Airtel, Glo and 9mobile. Needs your AlertZ number and the last 4 digits of a debit card for first-time registration. Daily cap: ₦100,000 transfers, ₦3,000 airtime.
Networks that work
The service runs on GSM networks, which covers MTN, Airtel, Glo and 9mobile. It does not work on Visafone. Your phone does not need to be smart, and you do not need internet data, only enough airtime to hold the session.
Which accounts can use it
Individual account holders with one of 15 retail accounts can register. Domiciliary, ZECA and Premium (Gold and Platinum) accounts are not included, so ask the bank which channel suits you if you hold one of those.
Set it up in 4 steps
Use your AlertZ number
Dial from the phone number the bank sends your transaction alerts to.
Dial the registration code
Dial *966*00# and enter the last 4 digits of your debit card.
Create a PIN
Choose a 4-digit PIN and confirm it. This PIN approves your later transactions.
Check your balance
Dial *966*00# again to confirm that everything works.

Safe use
Dial the code yourself and never share your PIN or any one-time code. A message that asks you to dial an unfamiliar code or forward a code is a warning sign. If you lose your phone, ask your network to block the SIM and use *966*911# or call Zenith to protect the account.
One code, any GSM phone, no data: save *966# and register once.
