MTN Rwanda Tariff Plans and Call Rates – The GWAMON Weekly Bundle Explained
The best-value MTN Rwanda plan changes every week. It is the GWAMON bundle, which MTN Rwanda launched in 2025. Everything else, from regular data bundles to voice packs, is priced to be compared against it.
GWAMON: what you get
| Price | What you get | Validity |
|---|---|---|
| RWF 500 | 700 voice minutes and 30 SMS | Until Sunday midnight |
| RWF 1,000 | 7GB data and 30 SMS | Until Sunday midnight |
| RWF 1,500 | 8GB data, 800 voice minutes and 30 SMS | Until Sunday midnight |
Dial *345# and follow the prompts to buy. The bundle expires at midnight on Sunday whichever day you buy it, so buying on Monday gives you the full week.
What the call rate really is
At RWF 500 for 700 minutes, a minute costs about RWF 0.71. At the bigger bundle, you get 800 minutes together with 8GB for RWF 1,500. Outside a pack, calls are charged at your standard rate, which costs more per minute, so a bundle is nearly always the better choice for regular callers.
Regular data bundles for comparison
| Bundle size | Price | Per GB |
|---|---|---|
| 1GB | RWF 1,000 | RWF 1,000 |
| 2.5GB | RWF 2,000 | About RWF 800 |
| 7GB | RWF 5,000 | About RWF 714 |
| 11GB | RWF 7,000 | About RWF 636 |
| 30GB | RWF 10,000 | About RWF 333 |
| GWAMON 7GB | RWF 1,000 | About RWF 143 |
The comparison is stark. GWAMON’s 7GB costs about a fifth of a regular 7GB bundle. The catch is the validity, which ends on Sunday.
