How to Check MTN Account Details Online: 5 Places to Look
Balance, plan, expiry, services and registration, with the best place to check each one.
Start with what you want to see
| I want to see | Best place |
|---|---|
| Airtime balance | Dial *310# or open the myMTN app dashboard |
| Data balance and expiry | Dial *323*4# or use the app |
| My tariff plan | Dial *123*1*2# or the app’s tariff plans page |
| Paid services | Dial *305# for value-added services |
| NIN link status | nin.mtn.ng/nin/status or *996# |
| Anything else | Ask Zigi, MTN’s virtual assistant |
The first column is what people usually search for. The second is where MTN keeps the answer. Only the app and Zigi need data. The codes work without it.
5 places to look online
1. myMTN NG app. The dashboard shows airtime and data balances, and the app lists your tariff plan, bundles and offers. MTN customers use it without data charges.
2. Zigi chatbot. MTN’s assistant answers questions about your line and plans, on MTN’s website and on WhatsApp.
3. MTN’s NIN status page. Enter your MTN number to see whether your line is linked to a NIN.
4. MTN web self-care. Guides mention a myMTN web login. Only use the address MTN gives on mtn.ng.
5. Your SMS trail. Purchases, renewals and deductions usually send an SMS, so your inbox is a record of what happened.
What the app shows
- Real-time airtime and data balances.
- Active plans and where to change them.
- TravelPass and roaming options.
- A Data Monitor that tracks your usage.
- Personalised offers.
If something looks wrong
Compare the balance with your last SMS from MTN. If a number does not match, write down the time and the amounts and contact MTN on 300. Screenshots from the app help, because they show the balance at that moment.
Check without data
No data? Use codes. *310# gives your main balance, *323*4# shows your bundles, *123*1*2# shows your plan and *305# lists services. You will not see offers or history this way, so use the app when you have data.
Stay safe when you check
- Open links only from mtn.ng or the official app stores.
- Never share your OTP or PIN, even with someone who says they are from MTN.
- Be careful with websites that ask for your number and a code in exchange for a prize.
- Log out on shared devices.
Can I see my NIN online?
MTN’s page shows whether your line is linked, not the NIN itself.
Can I see my call history?
MTN’s pages do not describe a call history feature, so ask MTN if you need one.
Why does the app show a different balance?
Bonus balances may appear separately. Check both main and bonus balances.
