MTN Rwanda Broadband and Router Packages
Quick answer: pick a mobile router for easy setup or a fixed package if your area has it. Check coverage and the data allowance first.
Router or fixed line?
| Type | Good for | Think about |
|---|---|---|
| Mobile 4G router | Homes and small shops | Needs good signal at the spot |
| Fixed broadband | Heavy daily use | Only where installed |
| Pocket MiFi | Travel, one or two devices | Short battery life |
Before you buy
- Test the MTN signal where the router will sit.
- Decide how many devices will connect.
- Compare monthly allowance with your real use.
- Carry your national ID to the service centre.
- Ask what happens when the allowance ends.
Packages and prices change, so check the app or a service centre for current options instead of trusting old lists.
Place it well
- Near a window, high up, away from metal.
- Away from microwaves and thick walls.
- Central in the house so the Wi-Fi reaches every room.
Slow Wi-Fi is often a placement problem. Move the router a few metres before you call support.
Common problems
No light usually means a power fault. A light but no internet means check the bundle and the SIM. Restart the router first, then call 100 if it continues.
